Origins of Reiki
Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century. It was developed by Mikao Usui, a spiritual teacher who sought to understand the nature of healing through meditation and the study of ancient texts.
Usui’s system, known as Usui Reiki, combined energy work with spiritual principles and was later brought to the West, where it evolved into various forms practiced worldwide today.
Reiki in Practice
This healing practice works by channeling universal life force energy through the hands of the practitioner to the recipient. This energy flows to the areas of the body where it is most needed, helping to remove energetic blockages, restore balance, and activate the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
It is deeply relaxing and can be done with a light touch or by holding the hands just above the body. Many people experience a sense of warmth, calm, or emotional release during a session. It supports overall well-being on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.
My Journey
I’m Jolene, a Reiki Master with a deep passion for energy work and spiritual connection. I’ve been practicing Reiki since 2014, originally trained in Shanghai, my journey has taken me across the world – living, learning, and healing in many different places. Through gentle practices and soulful tools, I offer a path to reconnect with your natural energy, inner peace, and sense of wholeness.
DISTANT REIKI TREATMENTS
Reiki energy is not limited by time or space, which means it can be sent and received from anywhere in the world. During a distant Reiki session, I connect with your energy field remotely and channel healing energy to support your well-being—just as effectively as an in-person session. You simply relax in a quiet, comfortable space while the energy flows to where it’s needed most. Many people report feeling calm, lighter, and more balanced afterward. Distant Reiki is a powerful and convenient option for healing, no matter where you are.
My first Reiki was in Galveston, Texas during a deep tissue massage. 1990s. Since then I have used a few different providers.
Jolene can perform Reiki energy treatments face to face and long distance too. I have had 2 long distance treatments and we will continue my energy work for a long time.
We are 200+ kilometers apart. Each session includes a consultation of her findings and recommendations of follow up care between sessions. I find these Reiki sessions to be very beneficial and economical too
Reiki Sentience helped me close cycles by discovering things about my past that my memory had blocked. Each session was an indescribable journey of awakening.
